Parental care in reptiles in real-life is extremely rare, but Lizardfolk probably have more social cohesion than most reptiles, so I interpreted this as a society that gives zero figs about bloodlines and treats sex with an attractive specimen as basically just a thing that happens with about as much fanfare as a handshake. Mine also had to constantly walk around in disguise, so he always talked like an idiot and avoided words with s sounds in them, which will make you think a lot about what comes out of your mouth (when he's speaking in Lizardfolk, on the other hand, he sounds like a college professor). Mine interprets this as "replace z sounds with s, d with t, g with k, and double up all s's". Lizardfolk vocal anatomy is probably a little different.

My character goes a bit further and considers it a high honor to the memory of his dead companions' to re-use their bits and pieces-his inventory is littered with parts from notable NPCs in his backstory and even a PC who died in one of the adventures. Lizardfolk don't waste anything, and aren't generally affected by the diseases of eating terrible things that mammals are (not that that has a mechanical effect, mind), so things that are "cannibalism" or just plain icky to other species are just "lunch" to the lizardfolk. I've been playing a Lizardfolk (in Pathfinder) for a few years with a group, and my GM isn't super-thrilled at giving Lizardfolk society a lot of spotlight, but it doesn't stop me from generating lots of headcanon. My lizardfolk was great, he didn't understand money so he would just throw handfuls of coins at people until he got what he wanted, and if he felt that he gave enough, then he would bully them into giving it to him anyways.
Money would be confusing, at least at first, as would the idea of 'stealing' if someone has more meat then they need, why can't you just take some? "Laws", while they have their own rules for society, the idea of personal property would likely be strange. And why bother cooking them? What purpose does it serve? I'm not even refering to the cannibalism thing(Eating humanoids), but even dogs, cats, rats.
They probably wouldn't understand why humans think it's okay to eat some meats but not others. Mating for any reason other then procreation would be alien.įood is just food to a Lizardfolk. They probably wouldn't understand genders, nor the idea of romance or sex.
Females and males look and act the same, save for the act of mating itself. Lizardmen have no real sexual differences.
